- Permanent Ward Clerk 38hrs per week Monday to Friday Ward 6 West, acute specialty in patient ward.

About Ward 6 West
Ward 6 West at Austin Health is seeking to employ a candidate who enjoys working within a large team and has the patient as the central focus. The ward is a 32 bed acute inpatient unit caring for Neurosurgical; Vascular surgical and Ear Nose and Throat Surgical patients. We have a 4 bed High Dependency Unit for Neurosurgical pre and post operative patients with increased care requirements.
About the role
The ward clerk role requires professional and effective verbal and telephony communication skills as well as sound knowledge in Microsoft IT platforms. The role involves assisting the Associate Nurse Unit Manager support the flow of patients in and out of the unit; making outpatient appointments; booking patient transport ; receving and delivering notifications from other departments to nursing and auxiliary staff as an example of some of the daily duties.
About you
The successful applicant will have experience in administration; have exceptional prioritisation and multitasking skills and attention to detail. The unit can be very faced paced so the successful candidate will also work calmly and efficiently under pressure in a supportive environment.
