And a number of local fitness centres offer discounted memberships to Austin Health staff, including yoga, Pilates, F45 and more!

Mental wellbeing

Mental wellness is just as important as physical health. We offer a suite of supports to help maintain and enhance positive mental health, which includes wellness webinars and team wellbeing sessions.

We also have both indoor and outdoor rest and recovery areas at all of our sites.

Employees and their family members can receive free, confidential counselling and coaching through Austin Health’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This service is available for both professional and personal issues and includes additional coaching services such as career assist, money assist and legal assist.

Financial services and staff discounts

At Austin Health you can 'package' your salary into income and benefits. This helps you pay less income tax and receive more take home pay. For more information, please see salary packaging.

Regular onsite seminars are run by our superannuation fund partners, to support staff in creating a secure and productive future no matter what their age. We also have a Transition to Retirement program available to mature employees.

As an Austin Health employee you have access to special discounts and offers at many local, national and international businesses. This includes food and beverages, health and beauty, clothing, computers, vehicle maintenance and much more!

Learning and development

We want our people to have opportunities to continue to grow and develop their skillsets while they work at Austin Health.

Through ATLAS, our learning management system, you can enrol in e-learning courses and workshops of interest to you. We have leadership development programs for staff at varying levels, and we offer a Simulation Centre at our Austin Hospital site. All staff are regularly invited to lunchtime learning webinars.

We also offer various educational programs to clinical staff, as well as conference, exam and/or study leave.

Transport and childcare

Austin Health provides onsite car parking facilities for its employees. Fees may be deducted from your salary and can be salary packaged to reduce the cost. End of journey facilities are provided for cyclists at all sites.

Austin Health is located across three sites in Melbourne which are all accessible via public transport. Austin Hospital is located directly opposite the Heidelberg train station, and a free shuttle bus service runs every 15 minutes between Austin Hospital and Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital.

We have a childcare centre located onsite at Austin Hospital, available from 6.45am to 6pm. And we also have parents’ breastfeeding rooms available for staff at all sites.
