About the Department
Ward 8 North is a 32 bed Orthopaedic/Plastic surgery unit catering for both elective and emergency admissions. With Austin Health being the major spinal referral centre for Victoria, 8 North accepts all spinal fractures not resulting in cord damage.
About the role
As a Ward Clerk, you will work collaboratively with a supportive team of professionals, who are passionate about providing best practice care for patients. You’ll enjoy our continuing education and quality improvement strategy, which is developed through leadership forums and committees. You’ll join a friendly and supportive team who genuinely enjoys their work and the contribution they make.
A regular day will see you:
- Working Monday, Wednesday & Thursday 7.00am – 3.30pm
- Working in a hospital environment with unwell people
- Providing clerical support on a surgical ward
- Carrying out all Ward Clerk duties and tasks and working as part of a team
- Participating in your own professional development as well as contributing to the education of other nurses or undergraduate students
About you
You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
