  • A grade 3 Temporary part-time (16hour/week for Thursday and Friday) position is available at vascular laboratory, Austin Hospital. 

  • This job is to cover a long service leave from 10th April'2025 to 4th July'2025. The applicant should have a Vascular DMU part 2 qualification or equivalent and registered with ASAR.

About Vascular Laboratory 

 

The Austin Vascular Laboratory specialises in the provision of non-invasive vascular investigations to In-patients and out-patients, including arterial and venous duplex ultrasound resting and exercise Doppler pressure measurement, minor interventional procedures such as ultrasound-guided vascular injection sclerotherapy. 

 

Our technologists are specifically trained in the conduct of Vascular investigations, and our clinical expertise is supplemented by a team of specialist Vascular Surgeons. 

 

The Close relationship between the Austi Health Vascular Surgery unit maintains the clinical care chai from referral to Vascular surgery Outpatients, Non-Invasive investigation, Specialist Assessment, Procedural Care and outpatient Follow up. 

 

  

Position Purpose 

  • Perform non-invasive testing of patients, including Doppler ultrasound pressure measurements and exercise testing, duplex arterial and venous scanning and plethysmography (PPG). 

  • Completion of Medicare forms for private patients at completion of test. 

  • Maintaining accurate audits on patient tests and keeping patient records up to date 

  • Reporting any equipment or other problems to the senior technical staff member. 

  • Maintaining a high standard of quality control during testing procedures 

  • Undertake not to reveal to any person or entity any confidential information relating to patients and employees, policies, processes and dealings and not to make public statements relating to the affairs of Austin Health without prior authority of the Chief Executive Officer. Participate in the emergency incident response activities, as defined within the Emergency Response Manual, as and when required, at the direction of management
