About the Sustainability Department
The Sustainability and Waste Service Units are within the directorate of Information and Services. We are responsible for providing service and support to Austin Health staff to create a healthier environment for healthier people.
About the role
As the Sustainability Coordinator, you will coordinate with the Sustainability and Waste services teams to facilitate frameworks, programs and projects across Austin Health sites. This role aims to increasing staff awareness and participation on sustainability initiatives; and developing, supporting and implementing strategies to achieve reduction of environmental impacts such as the reduction of waste to landfill and the greenhouse gases associated.
About you
You will be a reliable and passionate team member who enjoys engaging with people about Environmental issues and impact. You’ll bring strong communication skills, confidence using past experiences to influence change, and a collaborative approach to supporting continuous improvement in sustainability practices.
To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:
- Strong knowledge of Environmental Sustainability practices including regulatory reporting and legislative requirements.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills with proven ability in report writing and presentation skills.
- Demonstrate project management skills, with a focus on stake holder engagement, change impacts and risk management.
- Problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve basic issues or escalate appropriately.
- Teamwork and reliability, with a willingness to adapt to shifting priorities and support colleagues.
- Demonstrate experience in development and delivery of education programs
