About the Department
The Neurosurgery department is committed to promoting the highest levels of care for our patients. In realizing this goal, the department will lead and excel in research, teaching and the use of person-centered evidence-based practice. The department provides services on all three campuses of Austin Health, from the Emergency Department through to bed-based services and ongoing ambulatory care.
About the role
As the Spinal Fellow, you will work collaboratively with a supportive team of professionals, who are passionate about providing the best practice care for patients.
You’ll enjoy our continuing education and quality improvement strategy, which is developed through leadership forums and committees. You’ll join a friendly and supportive team who genuinely enjoy their work and the contribution they make.
A regular day will see you:
- Provide comprehensive Neurosurgical management of inpatient and outpatients.
- Participate in Unit meetings and activities
- Manage the surgical waiting list equitably
- Provide an on-call service as required
- Provide a consultative service to other Units
- Demonstrate a commitment to working as a team member with peer medical, resident, nursing and other staff to provide efficient, safe and quality care.

You will be someone who has excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:
- Completed Neurosurgical SET Training
- Registered with AHPRA
