About ICYMHS 

The Infant Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS) sits within the Mental Health Division (MHD) and provides tertiary mental health services to the north-eastern catchment of Melbourne (currently the local government areas of Banyule, Boroondara, Darebin, Nillumbik, Whittlesea, and Yarra). Young people eligible for the service are aged 0-25 years.

About the role 

Austin ICYMHS has Speech Pathologists across the service, with a professional structure that provides opportunities for growth and development.  This Graduate Speech Pathology role is a 12-month fixed term position with two rotations within ICYMHS.  It incorporates both discipline specific and broader generic mental health work.

 A regular day will see you participating in:

• Assessment and consultation around the communication needs of young people with mental health challenges
• Attending professional supervision and clinical meetings within your team.
• Learning about key approaches and understandings necessary to working with young people within ICYMHS.

About you 

You will be someone with excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills, who has strong organisational and time management skills and a strong curiosity around the relationship between communication and mental health.

 To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:

• Demonstrated wish to learn about the relationship between mental health and communication.
• Knowledge and familiarity with psychometric assessment tools.
