  • Permanent Grade 1 Speech Pathologist 
  • Full time 40 hrs per week with ADOs   
  • Work allocation: rotating Grade 1

About the Speech Pathology Department  
We have over 30 speech pathologists working across all three sites of Austin Health, in acute care, sub-acute care, rehabilitation and community programs. We function as one department and work in clinical teams in a supportive, friendly environment. Our work includes clinical services, research, quality and improvement, staff and student education.     


 
Details of position
 
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Speech Pathologist to join our team on a permanent basis

This position is initially based at the Heidelberg Repatriation Site and will work as part of the Continuing Care Stream under the guidance of the Grade 4 Continuing Care stream leader. In the course of a day, you may find yourself: 

  • Undertaking a swallowing assessment 
  • Providing communication therapy
  • Attending a team meeting 
  • Participating in a quality activity  

 

About you

As the Grade 1 Speech Pathologist you will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:

  • Demonstrated commitment to patient centred care 
  • Drive to grow you own clinical skills and capability in line with evidence based practice  
  • High level of communication skills both written and verbal
