About MIT
The Department of Molecular Imaging and Therapy is one of the largest academic Departments in Australia, and has comprehensive clinical service activities, as well as an Internationally renowned research program. The Department has four core clinical service components: Nuclear Medicine imaging, Radionuclide Therapy, Positron Emission Tomography (PET), and Bone Densitometry. The Department also produces radioisotopes on site with in-house Cyclotrons and radiochemistry and QC laboratories and undertakes a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic examinations and research studies.
The Department has 2 locations within Austin Health. Nuclear Medicine imaging, radionuclide therapy and PET services are located at the Austin Campus on level 1 of the Harold Stokes Building. Bone Densitometry services are located at the Repat Campus on level 2 of the Centaur Building. This position is based at the Austin Campus site.
About the role
- Hours per week: up to 16 hours per week
- Employment status: Fixed term 12 months
As the Nuclear Medicine Specialist, you will be responsible for
- assisting the Head of Unit in administrative duties as required including the development and review of policies and procedures for the provision of Nuclear Medicine services, updating as needed to reflect best practice and evidence-based medicine.
- assisting in the evaluation of the delivery of Nuclear Medicine services and in implementing appropriate quality and risk management initiatives.
About You
To be successful for this role you must:
- Be registered Medical Practitioner of good standing with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Hold a Fellowship of Joint College Training in Nuclear Medicine (CJCT), and primary Fellowship of either the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR), or equivalent
- Have appropriate training and experience applicable to the field of Nuclear Medicine
- Experience and interest in radionuclide therapy is strongly encouraged
- Experience in cardiac stress testing and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation
