About the Eating Disorders Unit
The Eating Disorders Unit is an inpatient program that caters for adults with severe and enduring eating disorders who require a supportive therapeutic program to recover their health and develop their understanding of the pathways to recovery. The team is multidisciplinary and includes a Psychiatrist, Registrar, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Dietician and nurses.
About the role
As the Social Worker, you will join our specialist public mental health Eating Disorders Team. You will conduct discipline specific assessments and be involved in the delivery of the program through supportive meal supervision and therapeutic groups. You will have mixture of generic and social work specific requirements in this role.
A regular day will see you:
- Conduct Social Work assessments
- Attend multidisciplinary ward rounds
- Conduct family meetings
- Conduct social work specific groups
- Meal and post meal support
About you
To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:
- Recognised qualification in Social Work and eligibility for Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) membership.
- Demonstrate the ability to work across a multidisciplinary team, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Energy, enthusiasm and passion for a career in public mental health.
