About the Procurement and Supply department
The Procurement and Supply department provides support, guidance and oversight for all Procurement, supply and clinical product selection activities undertaken by Austin Health. The department sits within the Chief Financial Officer directorate, along with Financial Services, Financial Accounting, Business Intelligence Unit, Enterprise Risk and Health Information Services.
About the role
Austin Health is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to lead strategic sourcing, category management and contract negotiations across a diverse range of clinical and non-clinical expenditure categories. Reporting to the Deputy Director Procurement & Supply, you'll work closely with clinicians, executives and suppliers to deliver value, innovation and sustainable outcomes that support patient care
- Lead end-to-end tenders and commercial projects
- Develop and implement category strategies
- Drive supplier relationship and performance management
- Deliver savings and value outcomes through data-driven analysis
- Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements
- Ensure compliance with Health Share Victoria (HSV) and Victorian Government procurement requirements
- Partner with stakeholders across one of Victoria's leading health services.
About you
You are a commercially minded procurement professional with:
- Experience in strategic procurement, sourcing or category management
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Advanced analytical capability and strong Excel skills
- Experience managing tenders and supplier contracts
- The ability to influence outcomes in a complex organisation.
Desirable
- Healthcare or public sector procurement experience
- Knowledge of VGPB and HSV procurement frameworks
- Qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business or related discipline
