About the Physiotherapy Department:
The Physiotherapy Department is committed to promoting the highest levels of care for our patients. In realising this goal, the department will lead and excel in research, teaching and the use of person-centred evidence-based practice. The department provides services on all three campuses of Austin Health, from the Emergency Department through to bed-based services and ongoing ambulatory care.
About the role:
Working in the Austin Health Physiotherapy department you will work collaboratively with the treating clinicians and wider physiotherapy department to provide safe, effective, patient centred care.
A regular day will see you:
- Manage an individual clinical caseload and act as a consultant/resource to other members of the Physiotherapy and wider multidisciplinary team.
- Work with the multi-disciplinary team to support effective and efficient team shared decision making for care planning and discharge planning
- Provide excellent, patient centered, evidence based clinical care to acute and subacute Aged Care inpatients including functional prognostication and complex discharge planning
- In conjunction with the stream leader, to lead workforce planning, recruitment, staff rostering and leave management within the stream

Someone who works hard to improve patient centred outcomes related to their physical activity or function in a hospital or community setting. We value highly developed communication skills and an ability to interact with people from vast cultural/ linguistically diverse backgrounds.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant clinical experience
- Current registration with AHPRA and eligible for membership of relevant professional association
- Extensive clinical experience in the specialist area of acute and/or sub-acute Gerontology
- Demonstrated history of, and commitment to, ongoing professional development and specialization in gerontology/ sub-acute rehabilitation
- Highly developed interpersonal skills that promote team-work and proven ability to relate to people at all levels within an organization
- Experience leading and/or supporting quality improvement initiatives to evaluate the quality and outcomes of service redesign
