About the Infant, Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS)
ICYMHS provides tertiary mental health services to the north-eastern catchment of Melbourne (currently the local government areas of Banyule, Boroondara, Darebin, Nillumbik, Whittlesea, and Yarra). Young people eligible for the service are predominantly aged 0-18 years with implementation underway to provide services for those aged up to 25 years. It is an exciting time for Austin as the ICYMHS directorate will be expanding in response to the recommendations from the Victorian Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health Services (2021).
About the role
The Senior Mental Health Clinician, Inner North Infant and Child Team, is an experienced mental health clinician who provides a high-quality clinical case management service that is informed by developmental, systemic and collaborative strength-based frameworks and expert clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment interventions to infants, children and their families.
The senior role is also required to lead, mentor and coach the grade 2's in the team in partnership with the Team Leader and provide discipline specific supervision to others across the organisation.

A regular day will see you:
- Assess and treat patients, liaising as appropriate with family members and caregivers to promote patient care
- Facilitate a coordinated approach to total patient management by working with other team members where required
- Participate in continuing education activities
- Collaborate with multiple teams across the division
About you
You will be someone who has excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to excellence in direct care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
You’ll further have:
- A relevant qualification and current AHPRA registration
- The ability to provide treatment for a wide variety of mental health concern in children and adolescents
- The desire to work collaboratively as part of multidisciplinary team
