About Infant, Child, and Youth Mental Health Services
ICYMHS provides tertiary mental health services to the north-eastern catchment of Melbourne (currently the local government areas of Banyule, Boroondara, Darebin, Nillumbik, Whittlesea, and Yarra).
About the Role
The ICYMHS YBIS Team within Austin Health plays a crucial role in providing early, community-based, brief assessment and intervention sessions for young people 12-25 presenting with low to medium acuity mental health needs. As a team member you will work closely with community partners – headspace, schools etc, you will be an integral and highly valued member of the multidisciplinary team

You will:
- Display a clear understanding of and practice in the principles of recovery-orientated, trauma-informed and family-centred, collaborative practice and expertise in engaging young people and their families within a range of settings
- Provide high quality, evidence-based clinical at an individual or family-system level as indicated by clinical need within available resources
- Work closely and collaboratively with ICYMHS teams and lead partnerships with community agencies and headspaces.

You will bring:
- A strong passion and background in supporting mental health and wellbeing of young people and their families.
- An extensive understanding of recovery-focused care and an ability to work from a strengths-based approach.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and supervision as part of your role.
- Strong understanding of and connections with community supports and agencies working with young people, their families and communities
- A commitment to ensuring safe, best-practice care that puts consumers at the heart of the decision-making process.
