About ICYMHS 

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS) sits within the Mental Health Division and provides tertiary mental health services to the north-eastern catchment of Melbourne (currently the local government areas of Banyule, Boroondara, Darebin, Nillumbik, Whittlesea, and Yarra). Young people eligible for the service are predominantly aged 0-18 years and currently expanding to work with those aged up to 25 years.

 

About the role

Austin ICYMHS has a significant number of Clinical Psychologists within all programs and teams, with a professional structure that provides opportunities for growth and development.

This Senior Clinical Psychologist role is a parental leave fixed term position and is critical in providing leadership to the ICYMHS psychology group.

 

  • A regular day will see you supporting the clinical psychologists with ICYMHS with:
  • Professional supervision and regular meetings
  • Leadership and identifying  the  professional  training needs for psychology within ICYMHS
  • Together with the clinical educator managing the psychology testing library and program

 

About you

You will be someone with excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills, who has significant expertise and  strong organisational and time management skills, as shown by a dynamic and flexible approach to working with psychologists within ICYMHS. 

 

To be successful in this role you will bring with you: 

  • Demonstrated clinical experience with children, adolescents and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and direct service in psychometric assessment of children, adolescents and families.
  • Experience in providing a high level of supervision to psychologists and other mental health workers in the service and completion of training required by AHPRA for the conduct of supervision.
  • Experience in providing leadership in  departmental research and evaluation activities.
  • Experience in the recruitment, employment, training and development and appraisal of psychology staff employed within ICYMHS.
