About the Security Department
The Security Services Department at Austin Health provides services to patients, visitors and staff by protecting patients, visitors and staff from harm; maintaining an acceptable level of order, control and safety; protecting personal and Austin Health property from theft, misuse and vandalism; and perform the duties of this position efficiently and effectively to the standards of the department.
About the role
Reporting to the Security Services Manager, you will oversee shift leaders and security operations, training requirements for your team, as well as ensuring systems and processes are up to date.
A regular day will see you:
- Overseeing daily security operations
- Providing leadership direction and support to all security staff
- Working collaboratively with others across the organisation
- Providing administrative support, including reviewing CCTV, rostering and attending meetings
- Driving employee engagement and development, process improvement, quality and risk management
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring with you:
- Management skills to lead, develop and motivate a team, as well as foster a positive team culture
- Demonstrated experience in security operations, including CCTV and control systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to prioritise business requirements and manage stakeholder expectations
- Proven experience in identifying and managing risk
