About the Surgery, Anaesthesia and Procedural Medicine (SAPM) Division
SAPM is a dynamic division within Austin Health, responsible for delivering over 50,000 planned and emergency procedures annually across a wide range of surgical specialties. The division promotes a culture of excellence, lifelong learning, and professional development.
About the role
The Division is seeking a part time (32 hours/week) Tuesday – Friday Divisional Administration Lead -Portfolio 1, fixed term until August 2026. This role provides high-level administrative and personal assistance to senior divisional leaders and supports surgical units including Orthopaedics, Plastics, ENT, and Maxillofacial. This role is key to ensuring smooth operational and administrative functions across the division.
A regular day will see you:
- Provide PA support to the Director of Orthopaedics and Divisional Managers.
- Coordinate meetings, correspondence, and documentation.
- Manage medical leave processes and maintain accurate records.
- Support HR and finance functions including training compliance and invoice processing.
- Contribute to team culture and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
As the Divisional Administration Lead, you will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:
- Proven administrative experience, ideally in a healthcare setting.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
