An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Respiratory Medicine Fellow to under take sub-specialty training in ventilatory failure and sleep medicine within the Victorian Respiratory Support Service - statewide home ventilation service - at Austin Health in 2026.
About the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine
Austin Health is a major public teaching hospital and tertiary referral health centre associated with The University of Melbourne. The Department includes a busy 22 bed inpatient ward, including a dedicated ventilation weaning and respiratory high dependency unit, inpatient sleep study beds for ventilatory studies, complex pulmonary function and sleep laboratories and is connected with the Institute for Breathing and Sleep.
The objectives of this position are to undertake sub-specialty training in chronic ventilatory failure and provide inpatient and outpatients care for respiratory, ventilatory failure and sleep medicine patients of Austin Health. It will include involvement in a research program. This is a 12 month fixed term position.
To be successful in this role you must:
- Have current (or be eligible for) AHPRA registration
- Have current Fellowship of the RACP (or equivalent)
- Have completed advanced training in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine
- Have demonstrated ability to undertake research
