About the Department
The Medical and Cognitive Research Unit (MCRU) is based at the Repatriation Hospital Campus of Austin Health and operates within the Continuing Care Division. MCRU has a well-established and successful track record in conducting a wide range of ageing-related clinical trials, particularly in neurodegenerative conditions. Many of these studies have focused on Alzheimer’s disease, contributing significantly to advancements in the field.
About the role
The role provides direct support to the MCRU research team. As the Clinical Trials Research Assistant you will conduct neuropsychological assessments for participants enrolled in clinical dementia trials at MCRU as well as relate research activities. The role requires adherence to strict professional service standards, adherence to patient confidentiality and strong time management and communication skills.
This role is ideally suited to an Allied Health professional with AHPRA registration (e.g. Provisional Psychologist/Neuropsychologist or Psychologist/Neuropsychologist, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse), who is seeking to broaden their research knowledge. It offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research in dementia while working in a collaborative team environment.
