About Austin Operating Suite Recovery 

The Recovery Unit at Austin Health provides a comprehensive and professional service for patients admitted for elective or emergency procedures requiring general,regionaland/or local anaesthesia. The Recovery Unit promotes a culture that aims to deliver quality patient care. Recovery Nursing staff are encouraged to valuelife longlearning and as such are provided with time for education and professional development. 

 

About the role 

As the Registered Nurse Grade 2 working as a part of the Recovery Austin Operating Suite, you will join a nursing team that providesspecialisedand comprehensivenursing care in the acutepost-operativeperiod. 

 

A regular day will see you:   

  • Deliver high specialised, patient focused care to people in the post operative setting.
  • Utilise a expert level of skill and knowledge to deliver effective post anaesthesia nursing care, including pain management, post operative nausea and vomiting management and specialised surgical care. 
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes.

 

About you 

You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.

 

To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:

  • Registered Nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Certificate in Peri-anaesthesia Nursing or previous experience in Recovery nursing
  • A patient focused approach to care 
  • A positive approach to ongoing self-education and skill development   
  • A flexible, innovative team-oriented approach to service delivery
