- 100 hours per week available on a flexible rotating roster.
- 62 hours per week October till 04/01/26 (secondment cover)
- 38 hours per week 03/12/25 till 03/12/26 (parental leave cover)
*These hours are allocated to cover staff secondments and parental leave arrangements. The respective end dates for these arrangements vary, commencing: 10/25 and 03/12/25, and concluding on: 04/04/26 and 03/12/26.

About the Spinal Rehab Facility
The Victorian Spinal Cord Service (VSCS) is a statewide program that delivers comprehensive care for individuals with traumatic and selected non-traumatic spinal cord injuries across Victoria, Tasmania, and southern New South Wales. It provides support from the acute management of injury, rehab, community and outpatient support.
About the role
This role presents a unique opportunity to support patients recovering from spinal cord injuries, working within a multidisciplinary team that values excellence, innovation, and continuity of care. As a key member of this dynamic team, you will deliver specialised nursing care, provide patient education, and offer emotional support throughout each individual's rehabilitation journey.
At the Spinal Rehabilitation Facility (SRF), nursing staff operate under a Primary Nursing model, fostering strong therapeutic relationships with patients. This approach enables nurses to rehabilitate, educate, support, and coordinate discharge planning in close collaboration with Allied Health professionals and the Community Spinal team, ensuring truly holistic care.
You’ll be supported by a team of experienced spinal nurses, educators, and clinical nurse specialists, with ongoing opportunities to expand your skills and advance your professional development.
A regular day will see you:
- Delivered comprehensive care for patients with spinal cord injuries, including:
- Neurogenic bladder and bowel management
- Activities of Daily Living (ADL) assistance
- Respiratory support
- Skin integrity and wound care
- Provided patient education and support to enhance self management post discharge, promoting independence and empowering patients to direct their own care.
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary discharge planning to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
