About the Cardiac Catherisation Laborory
The Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (CCL) is located on Level 5 North Austin Tower and provides a diagnostic and interventional service for patients with cardiovascular disease.
The normal operating times are from 0730-1830 hours Monday to Friday. The CCL also has 24 hours 7 days per week on call service for emergency procedures. Additionally, there is a day recovery area for patient management pre and post cardiac procedures.
About the role
As a Registered Nurse at Austin Health in the Cardiac Cath Lab you are responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating evidence based interventional cardiac nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal healthcare outcomes for our patients.
About you
You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring with you:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Experience in cardiac and thoracic nursing, Post-Graduate Critical Care or equivalent certificate highly preferred.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
- Commitment to further self-development and education.
