About Cardiac Catheterisation Department/Cardiology Division
The Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (CCL) is located on Level 5, North Austin Tower, providing cardiology services for patients with cardiovascular disease including:
- Diagnostic & Interventional cardiology
- Structural heart procedures
- Electrophysiology
- Regular hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 18:30
- Emergency service: 24/7 on-call availability for urgent procedures
- Additionally, we run a dedicated day recovery area for pre- and post-procedure management
About the role
As a Registered Nurse in the CCL, you will be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating evidence based interventional cardiac nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal healthcare outcomes for our patients.
You will ensure all clinical practices meet professional, organisational, legal, and ethical standards while delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centred care within the Cath Lab environment. Responsibilities include scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring during procedures, managing emergencies, preparing and operating specialised equipment, and supporting optimal patient outcomes.
This fixed term position is for 48 hours per week, with flexibility for part-time arrangements/job share considerations. The successful applicant must also be able to participate in on-call duties after hours, on weekends, and on public holidays.
About you
You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Experience in Cardiac Catheterisation laboratory nursing, Post-Graduate Critical Care or equivalent certificate highly preferred.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
- Commitment to further self-development and education
