About Radiation Oncology:

Austin Health operates 2 Radiotherapy Centres.  Our Metropolitan site is located at the Olivia Newton John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre (ONJ Centre) in Heidelberg.  Our regional site, Ballarat Austin Radiation Oncology Centre (BAROC) is located within the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC).  Both sites provide comprehensive cancer services coupled to Wellness Centres, ensuring patients and their carers benefit from this holistic approach to patient centred care.

At the Olivia Newton John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre (ONJ Centre), within Austin Health our patients experience world-leading cancer care, complemented by a comprehensive suite of wellness programs to support our patients in body, mind and spirit.  The ONJ Centre is a comprehensive cancer centre encompassing Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, ONJ Research Institute, cancer and palliative care wards and a unique Wellness Centre.  The Radiation Oncology department operates 3 Elekta Linacs with XVI and Brainlab ExacTrac imaging, 3D & 4D Cone Beam CT (IFI), ABC breath hold and HexaPOD 6DOF couch.  Treatment planning is supported by the Elekta Monaco RTPS with MOSAIQ patient management software. We provide comprehensive Superficial X-ray, Stereotactic and Brachytherapy programs. We are committed to providing a service that embraces new technology, new techniques and new ways of treating each patient so that the best outcome can be achieved. We are currently installing an Elekta Unity MR Linac and 1.5T Philips Ingenia Ambition MRI for RT Simulation supporting a full MRI workflow for radiotherapy patients state-wide.

The Radiation Oncology department is committed to promoting the highest levels of care for our patients.
