About ICYMHS CATT

The ICYMHS CATT provides specialist psychiatric care to children and young people experiencing mental health crises in the community, presenting to the Emergency Department and following discharge from inpatient services.

 

About the role

This is a dynamic and highly collaborative outreach role for a psychiatrist with an interest in child and youth mental health to take a key clinical leadership role in shaping the way young people experiencing mental health crises access care across Austin Health.

 

Reporting to the Lead Youth Psychiatrist for ICYMHS, this position would suit a psychiatrist with a strong interest in assessment, treatment, engagement and clinical liaison.

 

About you:

You will bring a strong interest in working with children, young people and their families and a commitment to delivering high-quality, trauma informed, person-centred psychiatric care. You will use your clinical expertise to influence practice, strengthen collaboration across services and support children and young people at some of the most critical points in their mental health journey.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Registration as a Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent post graduate specialist qualification.
  • Have an interest in access, frontline assessment and Liaison Psychiatry settings.
  • Have an interest in child and youth mental health
