About the Pharmacy Department
The Pharmacy Department sits within the Division of the Chief Medical Officer and provides comprehensive high-quality care to Austin Health patients and supports other members of the healthcare team in all aspects of medicines management. The department consists of a skilled team of pharmacists, technicians and support staff working across all three campuses of Austin Health to ensure patients receive excellent care
About the role
The pharmacy store person, under the guidance and supervision of the Pharmacy Store Manager, will participate in all activities of the pharmacy store. The major responsibilities of this position are: receiving pharmaceuticals from suppliers, processing requisitions, distributing pharmaceuticals and intravenous fluids, performing expiry date checking and assisting in inventory and logistics management.

You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:
- Customer focus approach to work and service quality
- Warehousing experience
- Effective communication skills
- Willingness to work effectively as a pharmacy department team member
- Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift 5 to 10 kg
- Willing to learn new tasks and use initiative
- Careful attention to detail at all times
- Organised approach to workflow
- Proven ability to work independently
- Basic computer skills
Desirable but not essential:
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Merlin software systems
- Experience in a similar role
- Possess a Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or a certificate of equivalency
- Forklift license
