About the Department

Nursing Services provide supplementary nursing and Patient Services Assistant (PSA) workforce according to the organisation’s needs. The PSA team provides safe and timely transport of patients and other patient support and environmental services.

 

About the role 

This position will support the transportation of patients on discharge from the ward to the car park while there are changed traffic conditions due to major construction works on the Austin Health site. This role will ensure safe and timely patient discharge.

A regular day will see you:

  • Transport patients according to the "Movesmart" policies and procedures
  • Complete associated cleaning tasks, such as cleaning wheelchairs
  • Perform equipment safety checks
  • Remove waste and linen during or after a patient movement

 

About you 

As a PSA, you will be able to work in an acute hospital setting with patients who may be unwell. 

 

To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:

  • Flexibility and willingness to complete tasks as assigned
  • Ability to use your initiative and problem solve
  • Basic verbal and written English skills
