About PSA Bank
Austin Health is seeking motivated and reliable Patient Services Assistants (PSAs) to join our Nursing Workforce Unit PSA Bank. As a member of our supplementary workforce, you will have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of wards and departments at Austin Hospital, Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital and the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre.
About the role
Patient Services Assistants play a vital role in supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the smooth operation of wards and departments through a variety of patient support, cleaning, food service and patient transport duties.
As a casual PSA Bank employee, you will submit your availability through Austin Health's electronic staffing platform and may be offered shifts across our various campuses and clinical areas.
The role includes a broad range of duties, including:
- Assisting with meal service and pantry management
- Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic patient environment
- Transporting patients throughout the hospital
- Assisting nursing staff with patient movement and handling
- Restocking ward supplies
- Supporting the day-to-day operations of clinical areas
- Contributing to a positive patient experience through excellent customer service and teamwork.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Patient Services) or equivalent PSA qualification
- A strong commitment to Austin Health values
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- A flexible and positive attitude
- The ability to prioritise work and demonstrate initiative
- Physical capacity to undertake the full range of PSA duties
- A willingness to work across different wards, departments and campuses.
