About the Occupational Therapy Department
The Occupational Therapy (OT) department is committed to promoting the highest levels of Occupational Therapy service for our patients. In realising this goal, the department will lead and excel in research, teaching and the use of person centred evidence-based practice.
The Department provides services on all three campuses of Austin Health and within all clinical divisions. The department provides care across the continuum from the Emergency Department through bed based services and ongoing ambulatory care.
About the role
As the Manager of the OT department, you will utilise your leadership skills to ensure that our occupational therapists deliver high quality services that meet the needs of our patients. You will have the opportunity to support the professional development of clinicians and you will work collaboratively with a supportive team of allied health discipline managers to achieve the strategic goals of the broader Allied Health team.
A regular day will see you:
- Planning and developing the Occupational Therapy services, with a view to future service delivery models and innovative models of care
- Providing professional leadership to all Occupational Therapists at Austin Health
- Supporting and developing the capability of the occupational therapy team
About you
You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to delivering innovative and responsive Occupational Therapy Services. You will be passionate about developing teams and driving service excellence. You’ll bring energy and enthusiasm alongside curiosity and compassion. This is a full time, fixed term position until December 2026.
To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:
- A qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration
- A well developed understanding of Occupational Therapy service provision in the public health context.
- The ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders
- A passion for Occupational Therapy and multi-disciplinary team work.
