About the Neurology Department
The Department of Neurology at Austin Health is one of Victoria’s largest and most comprehensive neurology units, renowned for its excellence in clinical care, research, and education. It has established an international reputation in the management of stroke, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis, while also providing expert services across all major neurological subspecialties, including movement disorders, neuroimmunology, neuro-oncology, neurophysiology, and neuropsychiatry.
About the role
In this role, you will manage and test patients with Neuroimmunological and other neurological conditions efficiently to the standards of the Neurology department, including participating in the Austin Health performance appraisal program and being involved in teaching, training, and research activities.
A regular day will see you:
- Regular attendance at outpatient clinics each week, including General Neurology, Neuroimmunology and MS Trials Clinics
- Gain expertise in care outpatient and inpatient with Neuroimmunolgical diseases
- Research participation.
About you
You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:
- Have appropriate training and experience applicable to the field of Neurology
- Registration a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) - (note eligible applicants will be assisted through this process).
- Have completed core RACP advanced training requirements in Neurology, including completion of Level 1 EMG training.
