NEMICS is funded by the Victorian Department of Health and is one of nine cancer services improvement networks. We deliver strategic cancer services improvement aligned with the Victorian Cancer Plan, VICS Implementation Plan, Optimal Care Pathways, and local priorities. Our team delivers excellence, innovation, collaboration, and initiatives with impact. Our program utilises evidence, data, and co-design to deliver innovative cancer services improvement. 

NEMICS is hosted by Austin Health and our members organisations include Austin Health, Eastern Health, Mercy Hospital for Women, and Northern Health. About the role

Are you passionate about improving the cancer service system, delivering cancer policy and projects, collaborating with world-class cancer clinicians and cancer leaders, and achieving excellence in cancer patient experience and outcomes? A rewarding opportunity exists for a motivated, collaborative, and highly organised health professional as the NEMICS Project Manager, Mercy Hospital for Women focused. 

The NEMICS Project Manager is an important member of our team, responsible for cancer services improvement projects and practice development. Cancer service improvement focus areas include access, multidisciplinary care, supportive care, reducing variation against the Optimal Cancer Pathways, survivorship care, priority populations, and other Victorian Cancer Plan priorities.  

About you

To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:

• Tertiary qualification in health with more than three years of experience in hospitals, health systems, and/or cancer services.  
• A post graduate qualification (or working towards) in health services management, public health, health policy or project management. 
• Demonstrated skills and experience in project management at service, organisation and/or statewide level.   
• Demonstrated skills and experience in health record audit, data collection, management, analysis, and reporting.  
• Demonstrated experience with project report writing and/or research publications.  
• Demonstrated high-level organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and achieve performance targets.  
• Demonstrated experience working across health sectors eg. Health services, primary care, and/or community health (desirable)
• Demonstrated experience working in an Integrated Cancer Service or with cancer improvement projects (desirable)
