 About Mental Health Division 
The Mental Health Division is committed to promoting the highest levels of care for our patients. In realising this goal, the department will lead and excel in research, teaching and the use of person-centred evidence-based practice. The department provides services on all three campuses of Austin Health, from the Emergency Department through to bed-based services and ongoing ambulatory care.


About the Adult and Older Adult Mental Health Service
The Adult and Older Adult Service is part of the Mental Health Division which provides a range of services for people aged over 25 years and their families and carers living in the City of Banyule and Shire of Nillumbik. Austin Health’s aging population indicating a need for new specialist services to provide care for the existing cohort of registered mental health patients over the age of 65.


About the role
The CCS is a multidisciplinary team of highly passionate, experienced, supportive and collaborative mental health professionals. We are creating a new Specialist Eating Disorder Service - Adult & Older Adult Mental Health Division. Our values underpin everything we do. 


As the Specialist Eating Disorder Service Coordinator, you will form solid working-relationships within the pre-existing community teams and foster strong therapeutic relationships with your clients and their families/carers.  


A regular day will see you:


•    Perform intake functionality for referrals to our Adult Specialist Eating Disorder Service 
•    Share your expert opinion and experiences to our team to help make a difference 
•    Assess and treat our clients, liaising as appropriate with family members and caregivers to promote patient care
•    Collaborate with multiple teams across the division and wider community
•    Support the care and recovery of peoples living with eating disorder diagnoses and presentations
•    Advocate for your clients right to access safe and timely care, at the right place at the right time

 

About you

As the Clinical Coordinator, you will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you flexible thinking, creative ideas and a passion for working within a strong multidisciplinary team to make a real impact on clinical outcomes. You’ll further have:


•    Experience and skills in delivering evidenced-based assessment and treatment of eating disorders 
•    Minimum 5 years’ experience in a relevant mental health setting - including eating disorder inpatient experience
•    Demonstrated knowledge of recovery and collaborative clinical practice.
•    A working knowledge of the Mental Health & Wellbeing Act (2022), the Carer Recognition Act (2012), and Chief Psychiatrists Guidelines
