- An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Diagnostic Medical Physicist to join our Medical Physics Department.

About the Medical Physics Department
The Medical Physics department provides services across the Austin Health network ranging from imaging equipment performance testing and quality control programs, radiation dose monitoring, education, research and development.
About the role
The position is Senior Medical Physicist, Grade 3. The ideal candidate should be ACPSEM certified as a Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physicist; or close to completing ACPSEM TEAP training (within 12 months of completion). Candidates who have not yet completed the ACPSEM TEAP training program will be appointed at Grade 2 and promoted to Grade 3 on completion.
About You
To be successful in this role you must demonstrate/Key responsibilities will include:
- Under appropriate supervision, oversee the Radiology and Catheterization Laboratory equipment quality control system and radiation safety program.
- Provide support to the operation, education, training and research functions in Radiology. This can involve optimising the operational effectiveness and efficiency of equipment use and information workflow within and external to Radiology.
- Supervise Grade 1 and 2 medical physicists as required. This may involve being the clinical supervisor for a physicist enrolled in the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM) Training Education and Assessment Program (experience dependent).
- Be appointed as the Austin Health Deputy Radiation Safety Officer and act as the Radiation Safety Officer if required (experience dependent).
- Undertake research and development.
