About the Shepparton Laboratory
Austin Health Pathology Shepparton is a core laboratory offering services of Biochemistry, Blood Transfusion, Haematology and Microbiology services. The Shepparton Laboratory operates 24/7 supporting GV Health hospital, as well as providing services to surrounding hospitals, GPs, and specialists from across the region.
About the role
We are seeking a Grade 3 Laboratory Assistant to join our Shepparton Laboratory on a casual basis.
A regular day will see you:
- Sort and distribute all samples as they arrive into the laboratory.
- Register specimens and request details into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
- Operate and maintain basic laboratory equipment as required.
- Deliver specimens within the laboratory.
About you
You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:

- Ability to enter data accurately.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team situation.
