About the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Department
The Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) department sits within the People & Culture directorate at Austin Health. It is based at Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital, and is responsible for providing advisory services, strategic direction and planning for the workforce health, safety and wellbeing across all campuses, covering approximately 11,000 employees.
Key areas of responsibility include occupational health and safety management systems; injury management and return to work; workforce wellbeing; and emergency preparedness and business continuity.
About the role
Austin Health is seeking a seasoned injury management professional for an exciting 12-month opportunity as an Injury and Recovery Specialist. This role will effectively support all Austin Health staff with all aspects of Injury Management, including work related and non-work related injuries. In this role you will ensure that injured Austin Health staff are provided with the highest level of support to assist with their recovery and achieve sustainable return to work outcomes.
A regular day will see you:
- Support staff with early intervention support, post injury.
- Interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including line managers, rehabilitation providers, treating practitioners and any key individuals involved in best practice return to work.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment to improve overall and sustainable return to work outcomes for staff.
About you
To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:
- Demonstrated experience in a Worker's Compensation claims or Occupational Rehabilitation environment.
- Ability to build and maintain effective key stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative team environment.
- High level interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
