  • $58,442 starting base + salary packaging + super (full time rate per annum)

About the Medical Record Service

The Medical Record Service team is part of the broader Health Information Services department, which includes the Clinical Coding Service, Submissions Services, Corporate Records Service and Medical Record Services.

 

It is a busy 24 hour service that plays a crucial role in the management, organisation, and dissemination of health-related data and information. It is critical this information is available to the right people and teams to deliver care to our patients, support our clinicians and external care providers.  

 

About the role

As a Health Information Services Clerk, you will be involved in collating, preparing and scanning patient information to make it available for patient care. You will have the opportunity to interact with both internal departments and authorised external parties. You will also be involved in release of patient information to external healthcare providers in accordance with our release of information policy. Working with our Team to support patient care by making patient information available either by scanning paper documents or responding to requests for information from external organisations. Weekend work is required. Some travel to other campuses is also required.

A regular day will see you: 

  • Releasing of patient information
  • Reception services 
  • Preparing and scanning paper patient information
  • Uploading information to receive in electronic format
  • Quality checking processes and identifying process improvement
  • Assisting with Freedom of Information Requests and / or Transcription Services
