About Ward 11
Ward 11 is a 28-bed rehabilitation unit that specialises in orth-geriatrics, wound management and GEM. Rehabilitation aims to improve independence and confidence by restoring and relearning skills that have been affected by illness or injury. Each patient's goal is individualised after assessment by the multidisciplinary team. The Ward 11 team includes; medical, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, dietetics and social work.
About the role
As an Austin Health HCW you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality care, supporting the Nursing team.
A regular day will see you:
- Support a philosophy of care, which is patient focused, from admission to discharge, and where the family is welcome in the carers team
- Ensure the well-being and safety of patients by following the values and principles, which underpin best practice in relation to patient care, education and patient rights
- Achieve and maintain the skills necessary, through personal professional development, to plan, prioritize and implement holistic patient care
About you
You will be someone who enjoys working as a part of a supportive team committed to excellence in patient care. You’ll have an interest in self-development and education, and actively seek out opportunities to grow your skillset.
To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:
- Certificate III in Health Assistance (Nursing)
- Hospital clinical experience and knowledge
- A commitment to quality, best practice and environmental safety
- The ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
