About the Mental Health Division
The Mental Health Division comprises four Directorates, including Child and Youth, Adult Mental Health, and Specialty Services (PTRS and Brain Disorders). This ensures Austin Health is an employee of choice for graduates embarking on a new career. Successful applicants will be offered two 12-month rotations across two teams within the Mental Health Division.
Within the Mental Health Division at Austin Health Social Workers are supported to grow and develop in a number of ways including:
- A dedicated Discipline Senior for Social Work who oversees Social Work at Austin Mental Health Division,
- Opportunities to connect with over 60 Social Work peers across the MHD through ongoing discipline professional meetings.
- Clinical opportunities to engage in evidence-based practice
- Discipline Specific Supervision
- Professional development opportunities – both in house as well as through external collaborations.
- One day a month self-directed protected learning day.
- Opportunities and support to participate in research
- Being part of multi-disciplinary team structures.
About the role
Austin Mental Health is building the Social Work graduate workforce, and we are actively recruiting early career Social Workers.
