• Early Career Psychology Program  

• Full time, fixed term (February 2027 until February 2029) 

• Approx $94,000 + salary packaging + super (pro-rata for part time)

About the Mental Health Department 

The Mental Health Division comprises three Directorates, including Infant Child and Youth, Adult and Older Adult Mental Health, and Specialty Services (PTRS and Brain Disorders).  This ensures Austin Health is an employee of choice for graduates embarking on a new career. Successful applicants will be offered two rotations across two teams within the Mental Health Division. 
 

Rotations may be available in: 

• Adult Inpatient – including CL Psychology, Adult Inpatient Unit, and Parent Infant Unit  
• Adult Outpatient – including Community Mental Health teams, Perinatal Services and Specialty Trauma Services 
• Infant Child and Youth Inpatient – including the Child and Adolescent Units and our new Family Specialty Unit 
• Infant Child and Youth Outpatient – including Youth Outpatient teams (12-25 years), Child Outpatient teams (0-12 years). 

About the role 

Austin Mental Health is building the Psychology Graduate workforce, and we are actively recruiting early career Psychologists.   

We have multiple full-time fixed term positions available within the Early Career Psychology Program Mental Health Division. 

The Early Career Psychology Program will offer the following:  

• Comprehensive induction & orientation to teams, services, and the clinical work,  

• Work within multidisciplinary teams which include Lived Experience,   

• Opportunity to work in a range of mental health settings and services,  

• Reduced caseload allocation to allow for graded development of skills and competencies,  

• Development of a comprehensive learning plan,  

• A range of support and supervision models including peer support, discipline specific supervision and group supervision  

• Clinical education support with regular and targeted professional development opportunities 

You will be offered varying roles where you could be doing assessment and formulation, individual and group therapy, case management and secondary consultation, depending on your location.
