Grade 3 Occupational Therapist or Grade 3 Allied Health Interdisciplinary Practitioner (Casual)

About Occupational Therapy: 

The Austin Health OT department is a vibrant and fast paced environment. The department forms part of the Division of Allied Health, which comprises the following services:

About Better@Home

Better@Home is a multidisciplinary inpatient service allowing patients to continue their care at home where appropriate and preferred by the patient. It aims to help patients achieve their goals, prevent re-admission and in certain circumstances, avoid hospital admission altogether.  Patients are admitted to the program from any of the three Austin Health sites. The program has a grade 4 allied health team lead as well as a multidisciplinary team comprising nursing, medical and allied health professionals.  

About the Role: 
The Grade 3 will be recognised as a clinical expert in subacute care with consolidated skills in client-centred assessment, intervention and complex discharge, including with a neurological rehabilitation caseload. The grade 3 clinician provides expert patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team and is expected to act as a leader for the wider MDT to support the delivery of excellent patient care.     

The Grade 3 clinician will support effective service delivery through appropriate resource allocation, the use of workload management tools and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.   

The Grade 3 will be supported to grow their clinical and non-clinical skills and will have access to a suite of resources to enhance their leadership skills, build their career and broaden their scope as an OT.
