Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the north-east of Melbourne and statewide. We have a highly engaged, diverse and collaborative workforce that is unified by our goal to help people live healthy and fulfilled lives.
About the department
The Austin Health Foundation exists to inspire and connect a community of givers, driving generosity to enable exceptional possibility and care for patients and staff of Austin Health.
The Foundation raises funds for all centres of care at Austin Health, including the Austin Hospital, Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre, Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital and Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre, as well as for flagship initiatives such as the Australian Centre for Transplantation Excellence and Research (ACTER).
About the role
If you thrive on bringing complex events to life and want your work to genuinely matter, this role is worth a closer look.
This is more than logistics. You will lead the delivery of one of Melbourne’s most meaningful community fundraising events, supporting the Austin Health Foundation and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre, helping fund care that supports the whole person: body, mind and spirit.
You will own the end-to-end delivery of a major community fundraising event, from campaign launch through to event day and post-event wrap.
A regular day will see you:
- Turning strategy into a clear, executable plan and delivering it
- Managing timelines, suppliers, stakeholders and multiple moving parts
- Working closely with corporate partners to deliver on-site activations
- Leading volunteers and event staff
- Owning run sheets, logistics and on-the-day decision making
- Managing budget, reporting and performance tracking
- Ensuring a high-quality, meaningful participant experience
About you
You have delivered large-scale events before and know how to make them work.
To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:
- Proven experience delivering large community, public or fundraising events
- Strong operational and project management capability
- Confidence managing stakeholders, sponsors and suppliers
- Financial discipline across budgets, invoices and reporting
- Calm, decisive and organised under pressure
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture
Experience in health or not-for-profit is beneficial but not essential.
Our benefits
Working at Austin Health means enjoying a strong sense of purpose, engaging in meaningful work every day. Our people also receive a variety of rewarding benefits, including:
- Greater take-home pay through generous salary packaging, for living expenses, meals, and holiday accommodation.
- A suite of wellness initiatives designed to support you, including discounted fitness memberships and special offers on health insurance, and a comprehensive wellbeing program.
- Onsite childcare at Austin Hospital, easy access via public transport and car parking options.
