About Human Resources Shared Services – Salary Packaging

Our HR Shared Services team is a trusted enablement function within the People & Culture Directorate. The Salary Packaging team provides in-house expertise to help employees maximise their benefits through tax-effective arrangements, ensuring compliance with ATO regulations and Victorian public sector guidelines.

 

About the role

As an Employee Benefits Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for staff seeking advice on salary packaging and related benefits. You’ll play a key role in onboarding employees, processing amendments, and supporting Continuing Medical Education (CME) reimbursements, while delivering exceptional customer service.

A regular day will see you:

  • Responding to staff enquiries about salary packaging options, including Living Expenses, Meal Entertainment, and Novated Leasing.
  • Onboarding new employees into the salary packaging system and ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Processing amendments and liaising with payroll to resolve discrepancies.
  • Assisting with CME expense claims and providing guidance on entitlements.
  • Maintaining accurate data entry and supporting administrative tasks.

 

About you

As the Employee Benefits Advisor, you will have excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service. You’ll bring energy and attention to detail to your work, along with a passion for supporting employees.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:

  • 1–2 years’ experience in an administrative or customer service role.
  • Understanding of salary packaging principles and Novated Leasing.
  • Strong numeracy and data entry skills with high accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
