About the Dermatology Department
The Austin Health Dermatology Department is located at the Repatriation campus in Heidelberg West. It provides an inpatient, outpatient and consultancy service. There are four general Dermatology Outpatients Clinics and Minor Surgery Clinics.
About the role
This primary objective of this role is to provide a professional, patient-focused consultancy service within the Dermatology department. You will work 3.5 hours per fortnight on a Monday.
A regular day will see you:
- Provide appropriate patient care to patients referred for a consult in a timely manner at the public and private outpatient clinics.
- Ensure that patients and their families are given adequate information upon which to base treatment decisions and follow-up.
- Complete appropriate documentation in the patient’s hospital record. Entries should be legible, timely, regular and comprehensive so as to document important changes or decisions, and ALL entries must be dated, designated and signed. Notes should include adequate information for coding and patient care purposes.

As the Dermatology Consultant you will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
