About the department

The Cancer Clinical Trials Centre (CCTC) is a collaborative, fast‑paced and high‑performing team within Cancer Services at Austin Health. We coordinate a large and diverse portfolio of oncology and haematology trials, from First‑in‑Human Phase 1 through to Phase 3, with more than 250 studies active at any one time across pharmaceutical‑sponsored, collaborative group and investigator‑initiated research. Working closely with leading clinicians and multidisciplinary teams, CCTC is recognised for delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred trial management and contributing to better outcomes for people affected by cancer.

 

About the role 

The Data and Administration Assistant (DAA) provides important administrative and data management support to Austin Health's CCTC unit, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of clinical trial activities. You will contribute to maintaining accurate records, managing key trial documentation and supporting day‑to‑day processes that uphold compliance, quality and workflow across the department.

 

This position is well suited to someone who enjoys detailed, structured work and values being part of a collaborative team contributing to high‑quality cancer research.

 

A regular day will see you:   

  • Maintain data entry and document management to support operations.
  • Update study trackers, databases and filing systems to ensure information remains current and compliant.
  • Provide reliable administrative support, including file maintenance, reimbursements and routine office tasks.
  • Coordinate and organise documents within CCTC systems, ensuring correct naming conventions and confidentiality standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader team to support daily workflow and contribute to smooth trial delivery.

 

About you 

As the CCTC Data Administration Assistant, you will be organised, detail‑focused and comfortable working within structured processes, communicating clearly and contributing positively within a supportive team. You take pride in delivering accurate, consistent work that supports high‑quality clinical trial operations.

 

You’ll further bring with you: 

  • Strong attention to detail and confidence in data entry and administrative tasks.
  • Good communication skills and a professional, team‑focused approach.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage your workload effectively.
  • Solid computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and databases.
  • A positive attitude, reliability and willingness to learn within a clinical research environment.
