About the Pathology Department
Austin Health Pathology is a dynamic and growing department within Austin Health, dedicated to delivering high-quality diagnostic services across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. We proudly support Austin Health, the Mercy Hospital for Women, and a wide network of GPs and specialists.
We are currently expanding into the Hume and Loddon Mallee regions, strengthening our presence and accessibility in regional communities through a network of laboratories, collection centers and point-of-care services.
About the role
The Pathology Courier is responsible for providing a reliable and timely transport service across the Austin Health Pathology network. This role primarily involves the collection and delivery of pathology specimens and blood products, while also supporting the logistics of other essential items through activities such as picking, packing, receiving, and distributing goods within the network.
A regular day will see you:
- Provide efficient and reliable customer-focused courier transport services
- Strictly comply with Fleet Management Policy and Procedures when driving an Austin Health Pathology fleet vehicle
- Comply with documented procedures to ensure specimen integrity is maintained as per accreditation standards for the transport of specimens
- Drive the Pathology fleet vehicles (Van or Car) to the various Austin Health Pathology sites and specified external locations to deliver goods, specimens and documentation via schedule or ad-hoc basis as required.
About you
To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:
- Full, non-restricted Victorian drivers licence.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with members of staff, internal and external service providers, clients and the public at all levels in a professional, confidential and courteous manner.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to determine priorities and organise workload effectively and efficiently
- Demonstrated commitment to quality and excellence in service delivery.
