About YEPS

The Youth Early Psychosis Service (YEPS) is a multidisciplinary team that provides services for young people aged 16 to 25 years, including assertive outreach case management, to support young people to recover from their first episode of psychosis.

About the role

• Hours per week: 14 hours
• Employment status:  Fixed-term Fractional
• Position available: 12 months from 14/7/2025 (parental leave cover)

As the Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be required to provide high level clinical governance, lead service provision and deliver comprehensive psychiatric care to young people receiving care from the Youth Early Psychosis Service (YEPS).

You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset

To be successful for this role you must: 

• Be a registered Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), or equivalent
• Have appropriate training and experience applicable to the field of Psychiatry
• Demonstrate a commitment to high quality patient care
• Demonstrate a commitment to working as a team member with peer medical, junior medical, nursing and other clinical staff to provide efficient, safe and quality care across the continuum,
• Demonstrate a commitment to teaching, training and research.
• Must hold a current Working with Children Check (WWC Check) in compliance with the Working with Children Act 2005.
