About the role

The Clinical Research Assistant Coordinator supports the smooth daily operations of the Cancer Clinical Trials Centre (CCTC) and contributes to the development of the Clinical Research Assistant (CRAA) team. In this handson role, you’ll assist with onboarding and competency development, provide daytoday guidance, and help foster a positive, collaborative team culture. Working closely with the CCTC leadership team, you’ll support workload coordination and operational improvements, while continuing to perform a range of clinical trial activities including specimen processing, documentation, and trialrelated support.

A regular day will see you:

  • Supporting, mentoring, and supervising the CRAA team to ensure high performance and a positive team culture.
  • Coordinating CRAA workload distribution, roster coverage, and operational processes in collaboration with CCTC leadership.
  • Overseeing and participating in biospecimen processing, documentation, and compliance activities.
  • Assisting trial teams with daytoday trial conduct, including protocoldriven procedures and data collection tasks.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, workplace document development, and quality activities across the CCTC.

About you

You’re adaptable and solutionsfocused, comfortable working in a changing environment, and take clear direction from the leadership team while contributing ideas for improvement. Handson and engaged, you stay actively involved in daytoday activities across the unit. You enjoy supporting others and fostering a positive team culture, and you’re confident guiding or influencing when needed. Fairness and equity matter to you, and you bring a bigpicture, organised approach to supporting a busy clinical research team.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring with you:

  • A tertiary qualification in Science, Health Care, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Clinical Research Assistant (or equivalent), with confidence in handson clinical trial activities such as specimen processing and documentation.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills to support balanced workload coordination across the team.
  • A proactive qualityimprovement mindset, with the ability to identify ways to streamline and enhance processes.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively, support team operations, and provide clear guidance when required, while maintaining fairness, accountability, and professionalism.
