- We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Speech Pathologist Clinical Educator to join our team
- Grade 3 role
- Part time position working 20 hours per week

About the Speech Pathology Department
We have over 40 speech pathologists working across all three sites of Austin Health, in acute care, sub-acute care, rehabilitation and community programs. We function as one department and work in clinical teams in a supportive, friendly environment. Our work includes clinical services, research, quality and improvement, staff and student education.
About the role
The Allied Health Clinical Educator will support and facilitate the delivery of clinical education which is innovative and responsive to the needs of Allied Health Professionals and enhances contemporary and emerging clinical and professional practice.
Working in partnership with the Allied Health Clinical Education Leads, Discipline Specific Allied Health Clinical Educators and within discipline, the Clinical Educator role enhances the quality of clinical education through the application of contemporary teaching, learning, and assessment practices. This role encompasses the design and delivery of educational programs, fostering an environment that supports continuous professional development and clinical excellence.
A regular day will see you:
- Developing adult learning materials to support clinical care
- Providing education on how to undertake videofluoroscopy
- Developing an eLearning package
- Implementing evidence-based practice in a clinical teaching moment
About you
To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:
- AHPRA registration or evidence of eligibility for clinical practicing membership of relevant professional association
- Allied Health qualification (at least 7 years’ experience within professional discipline)
- Experience and expertise in the provision of clinical education, supervision, teaching and mentoring to staff and students
- Knowledge and understanding of adult learning theories and principles in the workplace
- Understanding of clinical placements within the Victorian context
- Knowledge and understanding of Austin Health Allied Health Capability Pathway Tool, Victorian Department of Health Allied Health Credentialling, Competency and Capability Framework, the Careers Pathway Blueprint, and the Best Practice Clinical Learning Environment Framework
