About the Mental Health Division department
The Austin Health Mental Health Division provides care and services through a comprehensive range of teams to meet the needs of mental health consumers and carers throughout Victoria. Services in the MHD are located across Austin Health and the community.
The Mental Health Division incorporates three program areas:
- Adult & Older Adult Mental Health Services
- Infant, Child and Youth Mental Health Services and,
- Mental Health Specialty Services.
About the role
The Occupational Therapist Clinical Educator position provides leadership and support to the Occupational Therapy workforce including the Early Career & Graduate Program. The role will work with leadership to design, implement and evaluate education, training and professional development processes & structures across Austin Health that addresses these needs for the Occupational Therapy workforce.
A regular day will see you:
- Contribute to the development of education, professional development and training programs for Occupational Therapists inclusive of graduate and early career Occupational Therapists
- Develop resources that support the education and training element of the workforce
- Design, develop and implement a robust student clinical placement program
- Ensure appropriate, contemporary learning & development strategies are implemented.
- Support wellbeing and resilience of the occupational therapy workforce through supervision, peer reflection & other support frameworks.
About you
As the Clinical Educator Occupational Therapy, you will have excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work with a keen interest in developing your own skillset as well as the confidence and competencies of others.
To be successful in this role you’ll be:
- An Occupational Therapist with a passion to work in the field of mental health.
- AHPRA eligible registration.
- Driven to make a genuine difference in the lives of our consumers and their families and community.
