About the role 

As the Cleaner, you will provide a range of cleaning services in order to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene. You will be further responsible for maintaining a professionally presented and safe environment for our staff and customers.

 

The roles offer a dynamic, supportive and progressive working environment that values culture and staff engagement. All staff in the Cleaning Services Department are direct employees of Austin Health.

 

There are various positions available:

  •  Floors & Office Areas: Monday – Friday, 5.00am - 9.00am (20 hours per week)
  •  Office Areas: Monday – Friday, 5.00 am – 10.00 am (25 hours per week)

 

About you 

You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work,  and have a keen interest in developing your skillset. 

 

You’ll further bring with you: 

  • Prior cleaning experience in a healthcare or commercial environment
  • Compliance to relevant healthcare standards, ensuring standards are met and maintained
  • Be able to work across all campuses of Austin Health and work various shifts including various start and finish times across Austin Health
  • Ensure Safe Work Practices are adhered to in accordance with Austin Health Policies
  • Ensure best Sustainability practices are adhered to in accordance with Austin Health Policies
  • Effective communication skills
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Be prepared to undergo a National Criminal Record Check
  • Be prepared to obtain a Working with Children Check
  • Work collaboratively with other staff across Austin Health
  • Ensure safe work practices and environment in accordance with Austin Health Policies as varied from time to time
  • A commitment to achieving environmentally sustainable healthcare
